Despite the 90 degree weather, Officers throughout Westchester County carried the Flame of Hope in support and awareness of Special Olympics NY. The run started at the Yonkers Police, 3rd Precinct and ended at Riverfront Park in Peekskill. They are our Guardians of the flame and each and everyone of them ran proudly and effortlessly. Thank you to each and everyone of YOU!

We would also like to thank all who stood outside and cheered them on as they went by, especially Sleepy Hollow Tarrytown Places who had crowds with signs cheering loudly, including Sleepy Hollow High School.

We would also like to thank the local fire departments, Scarsdale, Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow for taking their fire trucks out and having the #AmericanFlag displayed so the officers ran under the flag in honor of our Nation. If I missed one, sorry. Please feel free to let us know!

Thank you also to Waverly Engine Co. No. 1 for opening up you fire dept for our arrival prior to lunch.

Thank you to Elmsford Water Department for opening your doors as well for our arrival at lunch.

We also have groups who come back yearly like ATF, Sing Sing Correctional, DA’s office, and MTA Police. Every year they grow as do all our wonderful Law Enforcement. Thank you!

Thank you all who contributed to this album.

Thank you to Athletes, Katy Sanchez, Will Smith and Alyse Mackey for joining and running along side of our Law Enforcement.

Thank you to FLIK Hospitality Group for always providing the delicious meal for our Officers after their 42 miles stretch through Westchester County. (They are located at 1 Pepsi Way in Somers)

Thank you Carmine’s Deli for supplying the delicious lunch break in Elmsford.

Special Shout Out and thank you to Joe Barca, Retired, Dave Barca, Amery Bernhardt and Mike Dowd. For 36 years, you have all had an integral part of this Westchester Law Enforcement Torch Run® throughout the years. Thank you!

Once again, a BIG THANK YOU to all the Officers who participated yesterday. You are truly our Heroes and are out Guardian of the Flames. Thank you so very much for ALL you! We are truly blessed!

#THANKYOU
You were all Brave in the Attempt!

Through the Law Enforcement Torch Run® and Special Olympics partnership we lit the way for acceptance and inclusion. Love <3

(Almost 42 miles – over 500 Law Enforcement – AMAZING)!
