Nearly 2,000 athletes and coaches from across the state will participate in the 2014 State Summer Games, featuring competitions in Athletics (Track & Field), Aquatics, Basketball, Bowling, Powerlifting, Gymnastics, Tennis and Volleyball. The University at Buffalo will host our athletes, along with, AMF Thruway Lanes, Buffalo Niagara Court Center and more community event centers will be serving as host sites.
The Summer Games are one of three annual state games and one of more than 4,000 total competitive experiences held each year throughout New York. All events are free and open to the public.
Opening Ceremonies: Friday, June 6th at 8 PM at University at Buffalo, featuring the Parade of Athletes, entertainment and the lighting of the Special Olympics Cauldron.
Athletic Competition: Saturday, June 7th, in eight Olympic-style sports.
We have closed our pre-registration volunteer process for the 2014 Summer Games but we invite you to come and be a WALK-IN volunteer.
Outside events will occur regardless of the weather, so please dress accordingly!

8am -1pm – Bowling- AMF Thruway Lanes
