Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes. Special Olympics New York is a tax exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

How will you use my donation?

More than 80% of our expenses directly support program activities, including local training and competitions, education materials for volunteer coaches, athlete outreach and recruitment, family support and much more.

Will I get a receipt for my donation?

a. Yes. If you donate online you will see a confirmation page and receive a confirmation email. Both serve as a receipt.

b. Yes. If you send a donation through the mail of $100 or more, you will receive a thank you letter that will serve as your tax acknowledgement. Please allow 2 weeks for receipt via mail.

My donation was not processed. Why?

a. If you paid online, the credit card number, name, or address you provided may not match up exactly with what your bank has on file. If you require further assistance, please contact us.

b. If you did not pay online, please allow at least 2 weeks for processing and receipt. If you have not received a receipt within 2 weeks, please contact us.

May I donate in honor or memory of someone?

Yes. If you are donating online, enter the relevant information in the “In Honor/Memorial” field on your donation form. We will send a note to the honoree or their family if you wish, letting them know about your donation. We process cards every business day. Please allow up to two weeks for your honoree’s card to arrive in the mail.

Can my gift be matched by my employer?
