Team New York Travels to Disney for 2022 Special Olympics USA Games This Weekend

Media Invited to Sendoff Athletes & Coaches Friday As They Leave Their Hometowns Across NY

Albany, NY – Special Olympics New York invites members of the media to sendoff local athletes and coaches as they leave their hometowns across the state Friday and travel by bus to Albany, where the entire delegation will get together for the first time since being selected for the elite national competition.

Team New York will convene in Albany for a final sendoff celebration Friday night, before traveling by plane to USA Games in Orlando, FL Saturday. Media are invited to attend the sendoff as follows:

About 2022 USA Games and Team New York

The Special Olympics New York USA Games delegation will include nearly 200 athletes and coaches competing in 14 sports: Basketball, Bocce, Bowling, Equestrian, Golf, Gymnastics, Powerlifting, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Tennis, Triathlon, Track & Field, and Volleyball.
